9 Ubisoft Games Added to PS5 Backwards Incompatibility List

There have been a number of recent updates with respect to backwards compatibility of PS4 games on PS5. Most recently, we have heard that less than 0.25% of PS4 games will not be playable on the next gen console. Indeed, earlier in October, Sony published a list of just 10 games that aren’t backwards compatible on PS5. But here’s the thing. We already knew that list is subject to change. And now, 9 Ubisoft games have joined it.

Here are the 9 Ubisoft Games You Can’t Play on PS5

Here are the 9 PS4 games from Ubisoft that will not be backwards compatible on PS5:

Assassin’s Creed Syndicate

Assassin’s Creed Chronicles Trilogy Pack

Assassin’s Creed Chronicles India

Assassin’s Creed Chronicles China

Assassin’s Creed Chronicles Russia

Risk

Star Trek Bridge Crew

Werewolves Within

Space Junkies

Honesty, this is not all that encouraging. Assassin’s Creed is a major series, and it is a bit of a surprise that a bunch of PS4 titles in the series will not be available on PS5. It makes one wonder what other surprise announcements of this nature could still be in store. What other major games will we not be able to play on our next gen consoles?

So, we recommend that you consider delaying before you sell or give away your PlayStation 4, if that is your plan—or if you shop for PS4 games to play on PS5. You might end up regretting your decision otherwise if another announcement of incompatible games catches you off guard.

PlayStation 5 will release on November 12th. Given how fast pre-orders sold out, we expect it will still be pretty challenging for some time to manage to snag one. Regardless, we are about to find out a ton about the next generation of PlayStation gaming. So, keep up with our PlayStation news to find out what gaming is like on the PS5.
