The Fallout 76 Beta: Everything You Need to Know

The Fallout 76 Beta launch is now just a few days away, and before long anybody who has pre-ordered the game already will be able to get firsthand experience with the new title. The Beta is scheduled to begin on the 23rd of October for Xbox One, and one week later for PC and PS4. However, there are some additional details you should be aware of if you plan on taking part.

How to Get Access to the Fallout 76 Beta

To get access to the Fallout 76 Beta, you’ll need a code. The only way to get this code is to pre-order a copy of the game. The Beta will only be open to players who have pre-ordered; it won’t be a truly “open” beta. If you have such a code, pre-loading for the beta on Xbox has already begun, meaning that you can install the beta ahead of time at any point. The download is quite a sizeable 45GB, so players are advised to download it early to avoid a lengthy wait.

When the Fallout 76 Beta is Playable

The Fallout 76 Beta will start on Xbox on the 23rd of October. However, it won’t be available to play 24/7. Instead, it will only be available to play in a limited window, which will be between 4-8 hours each day. The reason for this is likely to put the most strain on the game’s servers as possible so as to see how well they perform. Pete Hines has clarified that the window in which the beta will be available shouldn’t clash with when people are at work/school.

The Fallout 76 Beta Will Include Everything in the Full Game

It’s presently unknown whether the window will differ in different time zones. Hines has said that this has been discussed internally, but has offered no further clarification. The exact time slots have not yet been revealed, and may change on a day-to-day basis. Participants should follow the official Fallout Twitter account, which is where Bethesda announced the daily times for the recent Fallout 76 Stress Test.

What’s Included in the Beta

The Fallout 76 Beta  will include everything which will feature in the game when it launches fully in November. There won’t be any content taken out just for the purpose of the Beta. Additionally, players will be able to save their progress and transfer it to the full game when it releases.
