While developer Respawn Entertainment is making a ton of changes to Apex Legends like in the recent patch notes and, hopefully, nerfs for some specific weapons, that isn’t necessarily enough. There are still some players around the world with not the best connection. As such, many players are wondering how to change servers in Apex Legends to reduce the lag and ping.
In this guide for Apex Legends, we are going to go over how to change servers in Apex Legends. If you are in North America or Europe, you are likely going to automatically connect to the nearby servers to you. But if you are one of our international friends, then it might not be as simple. Thankfully, there is a solution that will ensure you can pick the best server for you.
How to Change Servers in Apex Legends
The last thing that anyone wants in a fast-paced, reactive shooter like Apex Legends is to have any bit of lag. Any lag whatsoever can mean the difference between winning a match and biting the dust. Fortunately, you are able to change your servers. This can make things a lot easier as it can reduce your ping.
This is how to change servers in Apex Legends. You are going to want to go to the main menu screen, the same one that says continue and shows some of the characters; not the lobby. You will need to not do anything at all and wait here for about two minutes or so (one minute on PC).
Then you will go to the accessibility settings and leave it on console. Click down on the right thumbstick and you will see the different servers you can change to. On PC, after waiting, a message will pop up asking you to press a button. Instead, exit out of this screen and ignore the choice. Then at the bottom of the main menu, you will see your server and you can change it there.
