While that bug sent players soaring across the map, this one just lets players hop around. The only problem is that they can do it after being downed.

This latest Apex Legends bug was recently discovered and shared on sites like Reddit. What’s most surprising about this particular bug is just how easy it is to cause; this suggests that it likely hasn’t been in the game since launch. More likely, it was inadvertently added by a more recent update. All that players need to do is press the jump and sprint buttons together while downed; doing so will allow players to jump, as if they weren’t currently crawling around helplessly.
The actual usefulness of this bug is debatable, and likely depends heavily on situation. If a player is downed in the open, being able to jump isn’t likely to give them any way to avoid being killed. However, if they’re downed in the right area, it could provide an advantage; players could use the bug to access areas not normally accessible while downed. Given that their opponents won’t be expecting them to be able to jump, this could let them slip away to a spot where their teammates can revive them, while their opponents search elsewhere.
Hopefully, Respawn will add this latest bug to their list of things to patch in the next game update. The studio recently released an open letter from the game’s executive producer, which acknowledged several of the game’s larger problems and pledged to work on addressing them. As such, it seems like Respawn will be working to address bugs like this fairly promptly as they arise.
