A Leaked Resident Evil 2 Remake Image Gives Fans Their First Clear Look at Ada Wong

We already knew thanks to previously released footage that the iconic Resident Evil femme fatale Ada Wong will sport a more situation-appropriate getup in the upcoming Resident Evil 2 remake, and now a leaked image has provided the first clear look at Ada’s unobscured features.

The image in question was posted to this ResetEra thread after being inadvertently leaked by a Twitter account that has since been made private. As you can see below (apologies for the poor quality), the image shows protagonist Leon Scott Kennedy clearly receiving some sort of unsettling news while Ada stands pensively nearby.

Nice shades, Ada.

A single image is admittedly not a whole lot to go on, but thanks to both the image itself and the comments made in the ResetEra thread, the following observations can be made:

  • The image reaffirms the previously shown footage in which Ada is seen wearing a plain brown trenchcoat, a more sensible choice of attire given her occupation as a spy.
  • That being said, many fans theorize there will be a moment in the game’s narrative where Ada dramatically flings the trenchcoat off, revealing her signature red dress. Another theory suggests the red dress will make an appearance as an optional “classic” DLC costume for Ada.
  • While she likely won’t be wearing them throughout the entire game, fans are still wondering why Ada feels the need to wear sunglasses even though Resident Evil 2 takes place at night. Again, she gets style points for sure, but it’s not the most practical wardrobe decision she’s made.
  • Fan consensus appears to be that the only thing which would make Ada’s trenchcoat attire better would be the addition of a matching brown fedora hat. If Capcom’s going to nudge her fashion sense in the direction of hardboiled detective it may as well go all in.

Meanwhile, Ada and Leon aren’t the only characters getting a major visual makeover for the Resident Evil 2 remake, as this recent Claire Redfield spotlight trailer proves.

The Resident Evil 2 remake will launch for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC on Jan. 25, 2019.
