With the recent launch of the Apex Legends Genesis Collection Event, Respawn took the opportunity to roll out a major game update. Foremost amongst the changes included in this patch were several changes to existing Legends hitboxes; those of Lifeline and Revenant. However, these were just the first of several major balancing tweaks.
The Genesis Event Apex Legends Balance Update
First up for a hitbox adjustment in the latest Apex Legends update was Revenant. The robotic Legend saw the hitboxes for his midsection, arms, and upper legs all slimmed down. As such, these areas will now be slightly less easy to hit. Previously, body shots directed at Revenant were relatively forgiving. Now, players should take more care to aim at his upper torso.

On the other end of the spectrum, Lifeline’s hitbox has been increased, making her easier to hit. Where Revenant has received a few specific adjustments, Lifeline’s hitbox has received small shifts in most areas. However, the most significant changes are to the width of her leg and waist hitboxes. Alongside these hitbox changes, Respawn also rolled out several balancing tweaks for other Legends, as follows:
- Bloodhound: Bloodhound’s Eyes of the Allfather ability has received a decrease to its duration from 4 to 3 seconds. Beast of the Hunt, meanwhile, has also gone down from 35 to 30 seconds.
- Octane: Octane’s Launch Pad ability has had its cooldown increase from 60 seconds up to 90 seconds.
- Revenant: Separate to his hitbox changes, Revenant’s climb height has gone up significantly, allowing him to climb much farther. The duration of his Silence ability, however, has gone down from 20 to 15 seconds. Additionally, the death protection granted by Death Totem will now last 5 seconds less than before.
- Wattson: Amusingly, Wattson can now place more than one Nessie on the map with her Epic emote. According to Respawn, there can be up to 20 Nessies on a map at any given time, after which the oldest will despawn in order.
