The Apex Legends Fight or Fright event is now live in-game, returning for the second time after its first debut last year. The Halloween-themed event features a special, limited-time game mode, as well as a host of new event cosmetics and more.
The Second Apex Legends Fight or Fright Event
“Fight or Fright is back,” writes Respawn; “Terrorize your enemies in the ‘Shadow Royale’ LTM on Kings Canyon After Dark. Fallen squadmates come back as Shadows with unnerving speed. Use your wits, deadly claws, and revives to keep the rest of your squad alive. Plus complete challenges to earn hunting free rewards and visit the store for new and rethemed classic Halloween cosmetics.”
The headline feature of the Apex Legends Fight or Fright event is, of course, the Shadow Royale game mode. First featured in last year’s Fight or Fright event, Shadow Royale is a limited-time game mode which will only be available for two weeks. In this mode, slain players automatically revive in a “Shadow Form,” with boosted speed, melee strength, jump height, and other advantages. However, they cannot use firearms. These Shadow Legends have one goal – to slay all other living players. The final survivors, meanwhile, must fight off the Shadows and escape to win.
This year, the Fight or Fright event has an exclusive event prize track; something which has featured in many in-game events over the last year. This track gives players the opportunity to earn extra rewards by completing daily challenges. Alongside that, all 24 of last year’s event cosmetics will be available to purchase through both store offers and special bundles. There are also some new cosmetics, including spooky new skins for Loba and Revenant. Each set of bundles and individual cosmetics will only be available for a limited time, as follows:
