Apex Legends Hacked by Hackers Complaining About Titanfall Hackers

Apex Legends players may have been puzzled today to find today that their game had seemingly been hacked. The regular playlists were replaced with the URL savetitanfall.com,” as well as messages to visit the site at the end of each match. Some modes have even been rendered totally inaccessible.

Apex Legends Hacked by Hackers to “Save Titanfall”

This major and widespread hack appears to be the work of hackers who want Respawn to tackle the problem of hacking in the original Titanfall. “Titanfall is a beloved franchise by many,” reads the website savetitanfall.com; “and hacker issues have been at rise. The Titanfall community has been begging Respawn to fix this issue for over three years, but to no avail. Today this game is still being sold, while being completely unplayable. It’s time we speak up.”

The website cites a particular hack which prevents players from playing the game at all. “This issue has been happening for years and Respawn is willingly pretending that they do not know about the situation,” claims the website. Indeed, it goes on to claim that Respawn has been contacted about this issue many times. “Electronic Arts, the parent company of Respawn and publisher for Titanfall 1 are aware of the situation, with countless reports to their client support and forums over the years.”

Thus far, neither Respawn nor EA have addressed today’s hack. However, it is on such a scale that the studio may have no choice but to address it. (Indeed, this will no doubt be what the hackers were hoping for.) Respawn has actually addressed the issue of DDOS attacks affecting Titanfall back in April, as covered by Eurogamer. At the time, they promised that; “Help is coming ASAP”. Evidently, either this help hasn’t arrived yet, or the hackers don’t feel that they have done enough. Whatever the case, now that so many Apex players have been affected by today’s hack, Respawn may need to comment on the situation soon.
