Apex Legends Leak Reveals Upcoming Legend, Weapon, and More

A recent Apex Legends leak seems to have given fans an early look at the game’s next batch of upcoming content; including the next Legend, a new weapon, and cosmetics themed for an in-game Halloween event. Of course, this content has not yet been officially announced. As such, fans should take it with a grain of salt. However, this leak isn’t from a datamine, as is usually the case. Rather, it consists of actual photos from a GameStop conference which recently took place in Nashville.

What the Latest Apex Legends Leak Seems to Reveal

Photos taken at the conference were shared online via Reddit; revealing what seem to be promotional artwork and marketing material for the next Apex Legends content release. Foremost among the pictures is the long-rumoured Crypto, a potential upcoming character. Fans have suspected that Crypto would be the next Legend for quite some time. After all, information relating to him has been found on several occasions via datamining. Indeed, many fans suspect that he was the one behind the hacking in the Season 2 trailer.

Apex Legends Leak Reveals Crypto and Upcoming Content 2

Although it’s always possible that content unearthed via datamining isn’t content which will actually be implemented (something Respawn has stated in the past), these promotional images do lend a significant amount of weight to the theory that Crypto will be the next Legend. Alongside the new character, another image shows the Charge Rifle, a powerful anti-Titan weapon from Titanfall. Screenshots of the weapon in-game are also visible. It’s currently unknown how exactly the Charge Rifle will work in Apex Legends. However, Respawn may tweak it somewhat from its past iterations. After all, players could use it to punch through mech armour!

Following on from the new weapon, the Apex Legends leak reveals a look at some Halloween-themed cosmetic skins. Specifically, a Frankenstein’s Monster-themed skin for Gibraltar. Finally, it seems that Respawn may be preparing for an actual retail release of Apex Legends. Until now, the game has only been available digitally. However, the last leaked image appears to show two boxed versions of the game; a Lifeline Edition and a Bloodhound Edition. None of this content has yet been announced by Respawn, and of course, every leak should be treated with caution. However, this particular leak seems extremely convincing.
