Yesterday, Respawn released a new episode of Stories From the Outlands, “The Old Ways,” which gave fans a look at the backstory of Bloodhound. In addition to the cinematic, the studio also announced an upcoming event with the same name. The Apex Legends “The Old Ways” Lore Event will be the first of its kind, and will be launching on the 7th of April.
The Upcoming Apex Legends “The Old Ways” Lore Event
The Old Ways is the second episode of Stories From the Outlands which Respawn has used to promote an event – the first being Voidwalker, last year. However, while Voidwalker was a Collection Event, The Old Ways is what Respawn is calling a “Lore Event”. The headline feature of the event is a dangerous new town takeover called Bloodhound’s Trials on the World’s Edge map. “Dive into Bloodhound’s Trials,” explains Respawn; “where you and your squad battle against a hoard of prowlers and claim high-tier loot as your reward.”
Like the Grand Soiree and System Override events, The Old Ways will also feature an exclusive event prize track. Players will be able to earn points by completing daily challenges, with 1,000 points available per challenge set. You’ll need to earn a total of 4,000 points in order to complete the prize track and unlock all of its rewards. Unlike a Collection Event, The Old Ways won’t feature Event Packs. However, a range of both new and old skins will be coming to the direct purchase shop.
Throughout the event, Bloodhound’s new “Young Blood” skin, inspired by the new cinematic, will be available. Another three new items will also be available, changing every five days (see below for details). All 8 of the old Legendary Hunt skins will also be available for direct purchase, in addition to two variants which were only available to Battle Pass owners. Note that these are still event exclusive, and will only be available for a few days each, as below:
