Hot on the heels of the launch of Season 4, Respawn has announced a new Apex Legends Valentine’s Day Rendezvous event, due to start tomorrow on the 11th of February. This week-long event includes the limited-time return of Duos, an XP Boost, new and returning cosmetics, and even more.
The Apex Legends Valentine’s Day Rendezvous Event
The Apex Legends Valentine’s Day Rendezvous event starts on the 11th of February and will continue for one week, until the 18th. During that time, players will be able to play a Duos mode, although this mode will become unavailable again at the end of the event. Additionally, the event will feature a “Double Up” XP Boost. This means that you’ll earn double XP whenever you’re in a squad with somebody else, up to a maximum of 20,000 XP per day.
The event also features a range of both new and old cosmetics for players to get their hands on. Firstly, anybody who logs in during the event will get the Valentines 2020 Badge. Beyond that, there will be four other items available for players. From the 11th to the 14th of February, players will be able to acquire the ‘Love Struck’ Charm and the ‘Through the Heart’ Longbow DMR skin. From the 15th to the 18th, these items will be replaced. In their place, players will be able to get the ‘Lovefinder’ Charm and ‘Love of the Game’ Pathfinder Frame. Note that ‘Through the Heart’ and ‘Love of the Game’ are returning items from last year. The other items are new additions. However, the old items will be available at a discount.
All told, the Valentine’s Day Rendezvous is a relatively minor event compared to previous Apex Legends events. (Presumably because Season 4 has only just launched.) Nevertheless, fans of Duos should be happy to see the mode return, even if it’s just for one week. It’s currently unknown what other events Respawn has planned for Season 4. However, at least one event featuring a Town Takeover is expected midway through the Season.
