Assassin’s Creed Sneaks Its Way Into Monster Hunter World

Monster Hunter World has been hosting a couple of crossover events lately, the most notable of which is the upcoming addition of The Witcher’s titular character Geralt to the game. Capcom is doubling down on its world melding strategy as it brings some equipment from the Assassin’s Creed universe into the game.

Assassin’s Creed Gets the Monster Hunter Treatment

Even those unseasoned with the Assassin’s Creed franchise are likely familiar with the iconic white hood adorned by most of the assassins featured in the franchise. Worn most prominently by Ezio and Altair of the first few games, the cloak marks the assassins’ most traditional and well-recognized look. Through an event quest titled SDF: Silent, Deadly, Fierce, players will be able to obtain the cowl which grants boosts to both running and climbing speeds, as well as damage dealt from stealth attacks. Capcom has ensured that not only will players look like their favorite assassins, but that they will feel like them as well, gliding through the world with ease as they hunt menacing beasts.

The second addition to the game in this event is the armor of the protagonist featured in Assassin’s Creed Origins, Bayek. This set of armor is attainable through the same SDF quest as the hood but will provide no statistical bonuses, unless looking incredibly cool helps you play better. Seen in the trailer, adherence to the source material seems to have been a top priority, as players can look absolutely indiscernible from Bayek himself. The quest will see players tasked with taking down a Deviljho, an Odogoron, and finally a Lunastra. While the challenge is daunting, as players must battle the first two in tandem, the rewards are well worth it for those looking to add extra flare to their hunter.

Capcom has been working at full tilt to make Monster Hunter World a game with longevity. Alongside the Witcher and Assassin’s Creed add-ons, the game will be receiving a massive expansion by the name of Iceborne this fall. Iceborne will add an array of new monsters and areas to hunt in, giving hunters plenty of reasons to stick around for the long haul.

The event quest SDF: Silent, Deadly, Fierce will only be available for another week until January 10th on Xbox One and PS4, so be sure to test your mettle and grab your gear soon if you want to traverse Monster Hunter World like the Ezio and Bayek themselves.
