New Battlefield 5 Bug Reported by Players is Turning People Invisible

Although Battlefield 5 had a poor reputation at launch for the number of bugs and other problems which existed in the game, DICE has done a great deal in the months since to address this problem. After months of in-game patch releases, most of the major bugs have been removed. However, there’s always a possibility that an update will introduce unexpected Battlefield 5 bugs to the game. Indeed, that is what seems to have happened in this case.

The Problematic New Invisibility-Causing Battlefield 5 Bug

Following one of the more recent Battlefield 5 updates, a strange bug began to surface among players. The bug has the potential to turn characters totally invisible, leaving affected players no more than disembodied weapons floating around the map. This invisibility does nothing to hinder those affected. Quite the opposite! The bug gives them a massive unfair advantage. Since reports began to surface from fans, DICE have prioritised fixing the problem.

Battlefield 5 Bug Turns Players Invisible 2

In a Reddit post meant to give players a status update, a representative of DICE blamed; “faulty customisation options”. However, that assessment has now been revised, with DICE classifying the Battlefield 5 bug as; “purely random occurrence.” The studio went on to explain that; “random or not, it’s an occurrence that’s happening fairly often in games, enough that players have become quite frustrated by it.”

Unfortunately, the team’s first hotfix aimed at resolving the bug issue failed to make a discernible impact. “We have noted that the Xbox One X fix from Update 4.0.1 (Ch 4 Update #1.1 did not improve the situation and we are tracking further issues regarding crashing and stability.” As a result of this failure, DICE has said that the bug is a key focus of the development team right now. “The team’s focus right now is stability, major bug fixes, and the invisibility bug,” clarified North American Community Manager Fejj Braddock. Hopefully, it’s an issue which the team are able to resolve relatively quickly.
