Behind the Scenes Footage of Mark Strong Recording for Battlefield 5

Yesterday, DICE revealed that Mark Strong will be voicing the in-game narrator for the Battlefield 5 War Stories single-player campaign. Fans got to hear his voice in-character earlier today when the studio unveiled the official Battlefield 5 War Stories trailer; something which the campaign’s Design Director had said would be coming this week. The studio has also Tweeted out a short behind-the-scenes video of Strong recording lines for the game.

Behind-the-Scenes of Mark Strong Recording for Battlefield 5 War Stories

Mark Strong’s role in Battlefield 5 is as the War Stories in-game narrator. However, some of the lines he speaks in the video seem to be closer to those of a multiplayer announcer. It’s currently unknown whether he will also be voicing such a role, though it certainly sounds like he’d be great at it! For the War Stories campaign, Strong will be voicing the game’s prologue and epilogue, as well as narration between each of the four story missions. One of these, The Last Tiger, will be coming to Battlefield 5 sometime in December as a free update.

Battlefield 5 War Stories Will Feature Mark Strong as Narrator

This week is going to feature a great deal of news and information about the Battlefield 5 War Stories. Two official blog posts will be releasing tomorrow and Thursday, looking at the first three War Stories in detail as well as the next phase of the Road to Battlefield 5. The fourth episode of DICE’s Dev Talks series will release on Friday. In the meanwhile, the EA DICE Twitter account will have two developer takeovers.

Francois Gagne, Level Designer for War Stories, will be taking over the Twitter account on Wednesday. He will be; “Going behind the scenes at DICE Stockholm… [to] show what it’s like working at DICE and provide an insider look at War Stories development”. On Friday, another Level Designer named Kalle Nyström will take over the Twitter account for more behind the scenes coverage.
