Bethesda is Prioritizing Player Choice With The Elder Scrolls Blades

The Elder Scrolls Blades launch is scheduled for later this year. Announced at E3, the upcoming Elder Scrolls mobile and PC title boasts impressive graphics and full VR support. In a recent interview with GameReactor, Bethesda VP Pete Hines explained Bethesda’s top priority with the game; player choice.

Player Choice in The Elder Scrolls Blades

Pete Hines gave the recent interview at QuakeCon 2018. Although Bethesda didn’t reveal much new information about Elder Scrolls Blades at the event, Hines did give some interesting information about Bethesda’s design process. “We want it to be a full-featured Elder Scrolls game with console-quality graphics that you can play on your phone for free,” he explained; “It’s got a couple of different modes. Where we are in development is continuing to flesh out and create all of that content that makes for a deep, rich Elder Scrolls experience.”

Elder Scrolls Blades Will Feature Console-Level Graphics

His explanation certainly meshes with that which Todd Howard gave at E3. During Bethesda’s presentation, Howard repeatedly clarified that the game would have console-quality graphics; and he showed plenty of gameplay footage to demonstrate as much. Hines proceeded to lay out some of the game’s key features. However, he did not mention anything which hasn’t already been revealed. Afterwards, however, he gave some insight into why Bethesda is designing the game in a certain way; “at the end of the day it’s about ‘well, how do you want to play? What do you want to do?’ and then making sure we’ve got enough content there to satisfy folks in whichever of those ways they want to play.”

By considering that question, Bethesda aims to cater for every manner of player. The game will offer standard RPG content as expected of an Elder Scrolls title. However, there will also be the Town Mode, the endless dungeon Abyss Mode, PvP, and more; all alternate ways to play that cater for different styles of player.
