Beyond Medusa’s Gate Is The Next Assassin’s Creed VR Escape Room

Ubisoft made quite a surprising announcement today by revealing the debut of a new VR escape room entitled Beyond Medusa’s Gate. The digital escape room is developed by Ubisoft Blue Byte as their sophomore endeavor. As the title would suggest, the game will be set in the ancient Greece of Assassin’s Creed Odyssey, lending to an interesting setting as well as a unique premise.

Grab A Group Of Friends For A Coastal Escape

As with most escape rooms, both digital and physical, a team of two to four players will be tasked with leaving the given room in sixty minutes. In order to accomplish this mission, the team will need to work together to solve a myriad of puzzles, as is standard with escape room challenges. One of the most captivating aspects of Beyond Medusa’s Gate, however, will most certainly be the setting.

Beyond Medusa's Gate Set In World Of Assassin's Creed Odyssey

Players will be trapped in a coastal cave where the ship of the Argonauts is anchored. The looming threat of the most famous gorgon will lend to the building tension as the team of selectable avatars uses their customizable accessories and tools to escape with their lives. Half of the escape room experience is based on building tension, and Blue Byte has proved to be more than capable of this with their previous release Escape the Lost Pyramid.

With not many more details to dig through, fans eager for anything related to Odyssey should be keeping their ears to the ground, as more specifics are likely to emerge soon. Escape the Lost Pyramid delivered on the interesting premise of a VR escape room, and showed that Blue Byte knows how to execute such a unique concept. Beyond Medusa’s Gate will be available in the United States and Europe May 7 of this year, and is sure to fulfill the expectation of yet another excellent Assassin’s Creed based escape room experience.
