Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War Season 1 Cinematic Revealed

Following the recent delay to the launch date of Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War Season 1, Activision has released the official Season 1 cinematic, giving fans a teaser of what’s to come. The trailer focuses on story with a glimpse at new maps and weapons, focusing on a conflict between Adler and an old enemy.

The Black Ops Cold War Season 1 Cinematic

“A trap has been set,” writes Activision; “A CIA safehouse has been hit. And an old enemy returns to get his revenge. After storming an experimental Nova 6 production site on Rebirth Island, Russell Adler has made a powerful enemy in Viktor ‘Stitch’ Kuzmin, the ex-KGB leader of the Nova 6 program. And Stitch is looking to settle the score.”

Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War was originally scheduled to launch this week, but was recently pushed back to the 16th of December. It will include the first collection of new maps for Black Ops Cold War since the release of Nuketown ’84, as well as new weapons and cosmetics, and new content for Call of Duty: Warzone. Of course, some of that content appears in the new cinematic. The Mall at the Pines location, for example, could very well be one of the new multiplayer maps. Similarly, Stitch appears at the end holding one of the new firearms.

Stitch himself will presumably be coming to both games as a new playable Operator. However, it’s unknown if any other characters will be appearing alongside him. The cinematic makes mention of Rebirth Island; a place which has been speculated as the location of a new Warzone map. However, confirmation of the new Warzone content has yet to emerge. A new map is very likely, however. After all, the game will be getting the full armoury of Black Ops Cold War weapons. (Weapons which, of course, are from a different time period than its existing selection.)
