Borderlands 3 Bloody Harvest Halloween Event Returns Next Week

After almost a full year, Gearbox has announced the upcoming return of Bloody Harvest, the Borderlands 3 seasonal Halloween event. Last year, Bloody Harvest was the first Borderlands 3 event to launch in the game, and it will finally be returning next week, giving newer players a chance to experience it.

“Rakk-o-lanterns and Captain Haunt are just around the corner…” writes Gearbox, on social media; “Bloody Harvest RETURNS next week!”

The studio has yet to announce the exact start date of the upcoming event, other than that it will be sometime next week. Moreover, the studio hasn’t confirmed whether Bloody Harvest will be the same as it was last year, or whether it will feature any changes/improvements for its second iteration. In its first instance, the event lasted for around two months, ending shortly before the release of the first story DLC.

During the Borderlands 3 Bloody Harvest event, players were able to encounter “Haunted” enemies throughout the game. When slain, these enemies drop a special resource called Hecktoplasm, which Maurice can utilise aboard Sanctuary III. Once players gather enough, they can access a special, spooky dimension called Heck. Here, they’ll face more ghostly enemies, along with the event’s final boss; Captain Haunt. (An undead version of Captain Traunt from the main campaign.)

Of course, in addition to enemies, Heck also offers players new Legendary and Anointed loot, including weapons which use the Terror mechanic; a mechanic also used by Haunted enemies which impairs the target’s vision and aiming ability. Additionally, players could also acquire new Halloween-themed cosmetics during Bloody Harvest. For now, players will have to wait and see whether the event will be any different this year. However, if you missed it last year, it looks as though you’ll soon have the opportunity to experience Borderlands 3’s first ever seasonal event once more.
