New Borderlands 3 Hotfixes Address Several Progression Blockers

Today, Gearbox has released the latest round of Borderlands 3 hotfixes; the second such update which has come out so far in 2020. The first 2020 update was relatively minor, but this patch does address some key community concerns. Namely, it fixes several ‘progression blockers’ which players have been reporting.

What’s in the Latest Borderlands 3 Hotfixes

Initially, this round of Borderlands 3 hotfixes just includes a few minor tweaks. A texture used on the Incendiary Badass and Super Badass Varkid has been tweaked for example, while chest rewards at the end of the Proving Grounds have been adjusted. A more notable change is an increase to bonus radiation damage while Gamma Burst is active; rising from 65% to almost double at 115%. This follows on from various Anointment changes which went out last week.

Borderlands 3 Hotfixes Address Progression Blockers

However, the other portion of these hotfixes addresses several progression blockers which have been reported by the community. Essentially, these are bugs which can make it impossible to progress in the game, such as a door not opening, or a character becoming impossible to talk to. The first of these is exactly that, in fact. Gearbox have fixed a bug which made it impossible to talk to Brick during the “Hammerlocked” mission in The Anvil. Additionally, a progression blocker where Ember would not appear to help the player in several mission steps has also been fixed.

Finally, Gearbox have also fixed a progression blocker in the mission “Sanctuary”. This blocker could occur when players travel to a different map and then back to Sanctuary after releasing Tannis. Hopefully, players who had unfortunately fallen victim to these progression blockers will now be able to continue with their play-throughs. Of course, you’ll need to make sure you download today’s hotfixes. If you’re not sure, simply wait in the game’s main menu until you see the message; “Hotfixes Applies.”
