Latest Borderlands 3 Hotfixes Addresses Weapon Balancing

Following the release of a small patch earlier this week, Gearbox has released a set of Borderlands 3 hotfixes aimed at improving weapon balance. As a result, you may find that your weapons are a little bit more (or less) effective, depending on your particular weapons of choice.

How the Borderlands 3 Hotfixes Affect Weapon Balancing

The Borderlands 3 hotfixes address weapons by type and also by manufacturer. So, to begin with, TEDIORE, DAHL, and COV pistols have all gotten a damage buff; +15% for the first two, and +20% for the latter. Meanwhile, Jakobs and Torgue pistols have been debuffed with 15% less damage and 10% less damage, respectively. Interestingly, players who favour Maliwan and Atlas should find that their guns are more effective. All Maliwan guns have gotten a huge +25% damage boost, as well as a +20% increase to fire rate! Atlas guns have also gotten +25% damage.

When it comes to sniper rifles, Gearbox has made adjustments to the group as a whole, without distinguishing by manufacturer. All Borderlands 3 sniper rifles have gotten a major buff; +20% critical damage, +15% fire rate, a 20% reduction to how long it takes to equip, and finally a 15% reduction in the time to aim down sights.

Finally, the Borderlands 3 hotfixes address several specific categories for balance adjustments. All Jakobs assault rifles, for example, receive a +20% damage increase. DAHL SMG damage has gone up by +10%, while Vladof heavy weapon damage is up by 25%. Meanwhile, E-Tech TEDIORE shotgun damage is up by a whopping +50%! When it comes to legendary weapons, the King’s and Queen’s Call have had a debuff, with their fire rate going down by 50%. The charge time for Firestorm and Storm have gone down from 2 seconds to 1. Apparently, Gearbox is planning a larger gear pass on Legendary weapons to come in the future.
