Alongside the changes included in the latest set of Borderlands 3 hotfixes was the addition of Photo Mode to the game’s PS4 and Xbox One versions. Following that inclusion, Gearbox has announced a celebratory Borderlands 3 Photo Mode contest, challenging players to capture exciting moments from the game. While there are various prizes on offer, the grand prize includes a visit to Gearbox’s studio in Texas.
The Borderlands 3 Photo Mode Contest
“Now that the Borderlands 3 Photo Mode is available on consoles as well as on PC we’re excited to see if you shoot as well with an in-game camera as you do with your Vault Hunter’s weapon of choice,” explains Gearbox; “We’re not looking for headshots though; we’re much more interested in pictures that capture the Mayhem of Borderlands 3.”

The Borderlands 3 Photo Mode contest is open from now until the 11th of November at 11:59 PM PT. To enter, participants need to submit a Photo Mode picture on either Instagram or Twitter, with the #Borderlands3 and #Contest hashtags. Once the contest closes, five judges from within Gearbox and 2K will choose 10 winners. While there can only be one “Grand Prize Winner,” there are three “Elite Swag Pack” winners and six “Swag Pack” Winners. The “Swag Pack” includes a Borderlands 3 t-shirt and a Borderlands 3 poster pack signed by members of the game’s dev team. The “Elite Swag Pack,” meanwhile, adds in the game’s Collector’s Edition and a Gun With Legs model. Finally, the Grand Prize Winner will also win a trip for themselves and a guest to Gearbox’s Texas HQ.
The Borderlands 3 Photo Mode can be accessed via the game’s pause menu. While it can simply take shots of gameplay, it does also include a variety of filters and effects. Gearbox notes that players should probably be sure to hide the UI with the “Toggle UI” feature before taking their image.
