Continuing the month-long celebration of the 10-year anniverary of Borderlands, Gearbox is now running its second weekly event; the Borderlands 3 Rare Spawn Hunt. This event follows on from last week’s Bonus Boss Loot event, and makes one very elusive aspect of the game much easier to find; Rare Spawns. These unique enemies only spawn very rarely, but during this week, the likelihood that they’ll spawn is much higher.
The Borderlands 3 Rare Spawn Hunt Event
“During the Rare Spawn Hunt, some Rare Spawns are guaranteed to show up in their designated locations,” explains Gearbox; “and have an increased chance to drop unique Legendary loot. It’s your chance to seek and destroy enemies you might’ve never known existed, or snag the unique Legendary weapons and gear you’ve been chasing after.”
The event is live now, and will end on the 15th of October, when the third weekly event will then begin. Gearbox hasn’t revealed exactly what that will be yet. However, the event listing is titled “Show Me the Eridium!” on the anniversary celebration graphic. As for the Rare Spawn Hunt, the event affects 14 different rare enemies which can be found throughout the game. These enemies, and the gear which they drop, are as follows. (Note that Rakkman and Mother of Grogans only drop their Legendary items in Mayhem Mode or True Vault Hunter Mode.)
- Borman Nates – Psycho Stabber (Legendary Pistol)
- Demoskaggon – any random Legendary Shield
- El Dragon Jr – Unleash the Dragon (Legendary Pistol)
- Force Troopers – any random Legendary Class Mod
- IndoTyrant – any random customisation item
- Maxitrillion – The Horizon (Legendary Shotgun)
- Mother of Grogans – any random Legendary Artifact
- Princess Tarantella II – Hive (Legendary Rocket Launcher)
- Rakkman – Night Flyer (Legendary Artifact)
- Red Jabber – any random Legendary Grenade Mod
- Road Dog – Redline (Legendary Shotgun)
- The Unstoppable – Band of Sytorak (Legendary Shield)
- Thunk & Sloth – It’s Piss (Legendary Grenade Mod)
