Borderlands 3 Takedown at the Guardian Breach Launches June 4th

Gearbox recently unveiled Bounty of Blood: A Fistful of Redemption, the third upcoming story DLC for Borderlands 3. However, ahead of that DLC release, players have a new Takedown mission to look forward to. Takedown at the Guardian Breach, due to launch next week, takes place on an entirely new planet; Minos Prime.

Borderlands 3 Takedown at the Guardian Breach

Revealed during the latest episode of The Borderlands Show, Takedown at the Guardian Breach will be the second Takedown mission to come to Borderlands 3. The first, Takedown at the Maliwan Blacksite, launched back in early January and has since gone through several iterations and changes. One of the most notable of these was a change which made the Takedown’s difficulty scale to suit the number of players who were attempting it. At launch, the Takedown was locked to four-player co-op with online matchmaking to group players together. This change will automatically be applied to the new Takedown at launch. As such, you’ll be able to challenge it solo, or in a group of up to four players.

“For this Takedown,” writes Gearbox, about the new Takedown mission; “Tannis wants to send you on a reconnaissance trip to the planet of Minos Prime so you can track down the source of a mysterious Guardian signal. Upon arrival, you’ll be besieged by a sect of rogue Guardians who have split off from their brethren and have irrevocably transformed Minos Prime.”

Just like the first Takedown, the Guardian Breach will feature new enemies and two new bosses; a mini-boss and a major final boss. Claim victory, and you’ll be rewarded with new Legendary loot themed around the Guardian Breach. Gearbox has yet to detail what these bosses or loot might be. However, they have shown off a few screenshots which at least hint at the upcoming content. Takedown at the Guardian Breach will launch for free in Borderlands 3 on the 4th of June.
