Bungie Launches New Bungie Rewards Program for Destiny 2 Players

With the launch of Destiny 2’s Forsaken expansion, Bungie has also kicked off a special new rewards program called Bungie Rewards which allows players to score neat real-life freebies by fulfilling certain in-game criteria.

The first Bungie Rewards offer will require beating the new Forsaken story campaign.

According to this Bungie Rewards announcement post on the studio’s website, the program will tie in with many of the Destiny-themed items that are already on offer in the Bungie Store, and it is actually a sort of logical evolution of the real-life rewards that were previously offered through the Moments of Triumph program from both the original Destiny and Destiny 2:

“Last week, Moments of Triumph came to a close to make way for the launch of Destiny 2: Forsaken. Today, we’re happy to announce that we’re introducing a brand new rewards program, built around Forsaken and linked to the Bungie Store to give you more ways to celebrate, commemorate, and show off your in game accomplishments.”

As of this writing, the very first Bungie Rewards offer is already live, and the offer’s criteria are pretty straightforward. If a player opts into the Bungie Rewards program and manages to complete the new Forsaken story campaign before September 30, they’ll be able to download a free digital copy of the Destiny 2: Forsaken Original Soundtrack which contains 110 minutes of new music from the expansion. The Bungie Rewards soundtrack download will also come with two exclusive bonus tracks that feature music from Destiny 2’s hidden Whisper of the Worm quest.

For now, the soundtrack offer is the only thing available to Bungie Rewards members, but a quick perusal of the Bungie Rewards page (which you can access by first logging in with your associated Destiny 2 profile and then following the link in the above post) shows that upcoming offers will be tied to in-game tasks such as acquiring the Ace of Spades hand cannon, winning competitive Crucible matches while at Legend rank, and completing all of the in-game triumphs associated with categories such as Gambit, Lore, and The Dreaming City.
