The New Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Patch

When it comes to general improvements, this latest Modern Warfare patch includes several backend fixes. Infinity Ward hopes that these will; “prevent crashes and improve stability across all modes and all platforms”. There are also general fixes which should prevent the game’s UI and Challenges from desyncing. When it comes to audio, the patch changes the way that the game’s walking footstep sounds are played; the walk footsteps will now always play while players are aiming down sights or crouched. Additionally, players can now walk slightly faster than before and remain using the walk footsteps (as opposed to louder running footsteps).

In the realm of equipment, two bugs affecting the Riot Shield have gotten fixes. A bug which caused players to sometimes not take explosive damage while using the Riot Shield is now gone. Plus, an issue which caused the Riot Shield to sometimes stow itself on a player’s back when they used Stim has been fixed. When it comes to weapons, five weapons have received tweaks of various kinds. The ARs has had a minor adjustment to its hip fire spread, while the M4’s hip spread has been increased, though its headshot damage has gone down. The 725’s range has been reduced, while the FAL’s recoil has also gone down, although its ADS speed has gone up at the same time. Finally, the EB-14’s ADS speed has also increased.

Finally, for the game’s modes and missions, the Piccadilly map has received some tweaks. Spawning has been fine-tuned for the Team Deathmatch and Domination modes, for example. Plus, the B Flag in Domination has been moved to be close to the buses, instead of at the fountain. That all but covers most of what this patch contains, but you can check out the full patch notes here.
