Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Patch Adds Five More Loadout Slots

A new Call of Duty: Modern Warfare patch has arrived, and while it did add a few big things, like the Crossbow and five new loadout slots, it also features a huge range of tweaks and fixes. Loadouts in particular are something which fans had been requesting, and are the headline new feature of the update, besides the addition of the Crossbow.

What’s New in the Latest Modern Warfare Patch

Beyond the Crossbow and the five new loadout slots which players will be able to make use of, the new Modern Warfare patch largely focuses on general fixes. The full patch notes are available here, but some standout fixes include; the removal of a bush near the A Flag on the Port map which was causing players to instantly die; removal of a bug that prevented players from capturing the hospital Hardpoint on the St. Petrograd map; and removing the ability for players to cancel their sliding recovery state.

When it comes to weaponry, the patch makes a few balance changes. Bullet penetration for the MK2 Carbine, for example, has gone up. Meanwhile, the RAM-7’s extended magazine will now hold 50 bullets instead of 45. The ADS position has also been moved slightly for the M4A1 Blueprint “OG,” so that it no longer blocks so much of a player’s line of sight.

This is also the first patch to feature a section for changes made specifically to Call of Duty League. Charge time on the trophy system has gone down, for example, while headshot multiplier damage has been “clamped”. Additionally, in Domination, players will now need to neutralise flags before they can capture them again. When it comes to the COD Caster, the patch also makes the killfeed and nameplate colours more readable, and also includes a rework of the mini-map visuals.
