Capture the Flag is Coming to Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War

Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War Season 4 has arrived, and with it, a whole range of new Multiplayer content. When it comes to game modes, however, players will have to wait until later in the season for one particular returning classic: Capture the Flag.

Black Ops Cold War Season 4: New Game Modes

With the launch of Season 4 in Black Ops Cold War, players are getting two game modes to try; One in the Chamber and Multi-Team: Sat-Link. The latter is a brand-new gameplay mode designed for ten squads of four players. Squads must compete to find and activate Sat-Link devices around the map. Once activated, the Sat-Link will start uploading data to orbital satellites, earning points for your squad. The first squad to reach the score limit wins.

One in the Chamber, meanwhile, is a classic mode from the original Call of Duty: Black Ops. In this mode, players start with only a single bullet each, and will only earn another upon scoring a kill. Fortunately, that bullet is extremely powerful. Each player in a match has three lives total. While bullets will kill instantly at range, melee attacks are also lethal, so players without any bullets remaining are still dangerous.

While these two modes are now available to play, there is one more classic mode coming later in Season 4. Capture the Flag isn’t just a Call of Duty classic. Rather, it’s a classic for first-person shooters in general, and featured in the very first Call of Duty multiplayer. This objective-based mode pits two teams of players against one another as they compete to steal the opposing team’s flag and bring it back to their base. If your team’s flag has been stolen (and hasn’t yet been scored or retrieved), it won’t be possible to score with the enemy flag. According to Treyarch, Capture the Flag will have its own featured playlist with a range of 6v6 maps.
