Capture the Flag is Now Playable in Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War

Season 4 Reloaded has arrived in Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War, and with it comes a whole host of new features; the new Zombies map “Mauer der Toten,” a new weapon, etc. For Multiplayer, players have been treated to the return of an FPS classic; Capture the Flag.

Black Ops Cold War Season 4 Reloaded – Capture the Flag

Arguably one of the most famous game modes in the entire first-person-shooter genre, Capture the Flag has been in Call of Duty since the very first game. However, until today, the classic game mode has not been available to play in Black Ops Cold War. That has now changed, with Capture the Flag now playable across all platforms.

Gamers who have ever played Capture the Flag before should find the mode very familiar, as it doesn’t change much from the long-established formula. Two teams of players must compete to steal their opponent’s flag, with a flag for each team located in safe bases at opposite ends of a map. Once you capture the flag, you must get it back to your own base to score. However, you won’t be able to score if your own team’s flag has also been stolen. As such, teams must focus on both offence and defence to seize their opponents’ flag while holding their own.

Capture the Flag isn’t the last game mode coming to Black Ops Cold War in Season 4. According to Treyarch, at least one more game mode is coming later in the season, and this mode ties in directly with Rush; the new 6v6 map which came to the game as part of Season 4 Reloaded. Rush is a classic Black Ops made which takes place in a paintball course. Later this season, the Paintball Moshpit mode will be expanding on this setting, introducing paintball-style visual and sound effects. However, it won’t be limited to Rush; Paintball Moshpit will apply its effects across a wide range of maps and game modes.
