CD Projekt Red Announces First Cyberpunk 2077 Photo Contest

As development no doubt continues on the game’s next major patch, CD Projekt Red has announced the first Cyberpunk 2077 Photo Mode contest. Dubbing the competition “Shutterpunk 2077,” this event gives fans of the game’s Photo Mode a chance to submit their best photos.

The #Shutterpunk2077 Photo Mode Contest

“We’re presenting the official Cyberpunk 2077 Photo Mode Contest,” writes CD Projekt Red; “‘Shutterpunk 2077’. All you have to do to participate is take a screenshot using the in-game photo mode and post it on Twitter with hashtag #Shutterpunk2077.”

The Shutterpunk 2077 contest was actually originally announced the day after Cyberpunk 2077 launched, on the 9th of December. However, with the massive amount of negative outcry surrounding the game at the time, CD Projekt Red didn’t draw much attention to it. Earlier today, they posted a new Tweet seemingly “announcing” the event again, stating; “Official Cyberpunk 2077 Photo Mode Contest is here!”

As noted above, entering the Shutterpunk 2077 contest is fairly simple. However, there are a few important rules and clarifications to be aware of if you’re planning on entering. For instance, participants should not use any frames or stickers, and shouldn’t edit their photos in any external software. Additionally, each submitted photo should be entered for one of three different categories; Portrait, Action, or Sights. The former is for any photo showcasing a character. Action, meanwhile, focuses on dynamic in-game moments, while Sights focuses on the structures & scenery of Night City.

Submissions for the Photo Mode Contest will be open until the 31st of January at 11:59 PM CET. A wide variety of prizes are on offer for the competition’s winners, many of which have been provided by CD Projekt Red’s partners. These include a Cyberpunk 2077 gaming chair from Secret Lab, for example, along with Alienware gaming laptops, Razer gaming peripherals, and Cyberpunk metal gang posters from Displate.

If you want to enter the contest, you still have around ten days to submit your photo. For more details, check out the full rules and regulations of the contest, which are available here.
