Could Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 Be Getting A Battle Royale Mode?

Call of Duty is one of the last series to be spared the battle royale mode bug, but what if that all changes when we learn more about the newest entry in the series, Call of Duty: Black Ops 4? We’re hurtling for an official reveal on May 17, but there’s a few hints in the latest image tweeted out by the Fortnite Twitter account that appear as though they might be giving us some sort of “early warning system.” Or it could just be a fun Easter egg.

The image, which is advertising the Persuader pickaxe and the Chromium Outfit skin, reveals something that you’d have to look closely at if you don’t want to miss. If you blink, you’ll miss it, but it’s hard to not see if you take a second glance. One of the characters is wearing a couple of dog tags, which isn’t weird on its own, but when you look a little closer, you see it looks a little familiar. It looks just like the bright orange Roman numerals of the Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 logo. It’s pretty ugly, and pretty unmistakable.

Now, why would the character be wearing dog tags with this logo when Epic Games isn’t related to Call of Duty? It could be a subtle nod to Fortnite or the company’s plans to implement something of a battle royale mode in the popular shooter, which would probably upset longtime fans but excite many others. It’s going to shake things up considerably if we see a similar mode to that of what PUBG and Fortnite feature in the latest Call of Duty, but we’ve got a few days left to wait until we get to know any more about it.

What do you think the dog tag has to do with anything? Do you think it’s a sign? Let us know!
