Cyberpunk 2077 may still be months away from release, but in all likelihood, hype for the game has never been higher. CD Projekt Red is doing much as they did last year and slowly trickling out new information; ahead of a gameplay reveal which is due later this year. However, fans now have another release to look forward to; that of an official Cyberpunk 2077 lore book, which will be released on the 21st of April, 2020.
The Upcoming Cyberpunk 2077 Lore Book
As reported by GameSpot, the upcoming Cyberpunk 2077 lore book is being produced by Dark Horse Comics, the same company which partnered with CD Projekt Red to produce the Witcher comic series. The book will be entitled; “The World of Cyberpunk 2077,” and looks timed to release alongside the game. Certainly, fans have been extremely eager to learn whatever they can about Night City and the rest of the game’s world. As such, the book could have a huge prospective audience.
“Step into a dark future, where violence, oppression, and cyberware aren’t just common – they’re necessary tools to get ahead,” reads the Dark Horse Comics press release; “Explore the various districts, gangs, and history of Night City. Learn all there is to know about the technology of tomorrow and research the cybernetics, weapons, and vehicles of Cyberpunk 2077.”
According to the company, the upcoming book will be over 200 pages long. Indeed, Dark Horse Comics actually refers to it as a ‘tome,’ and the word seems apt. Given how deep the lore of Cyberpunk 2077 will be, it’s likely that the book will be a valuable resource. Even if it doesn’t refer to specific gameplay mechanics; learning about the setting’s factions could be very useful given how in-depth CD Projekt Red is likely to have gone in developing the game. The book will cost fans $39.99 and will be available both from online retailers and local comic stores.
