DAHL Weapons and More Get Buffed in New Borderlands 3 Patch

Following Gearbox’s PAX East appearance yesterday, during which the studio unveiled their upcoming Guns, Love, and Tentacles DLC, the studio rolled out what is likely to be their final Borderlands 3 patch of the month. This new patch includes the usual selection of bug-fixes, but also contains a major buff for DAHL assault rifles, together with four other Legendary weapons.

What’s in the End-of-Month Borderlands 3 Patch

First up in the latest Borderlands 3 patch are the usual bug-fixes which are typically found in any round of hotfixes; a progression blocker during the “All Bets Off” mission has been fixed, for instance. These specific fixes are unlikely to impact most players much. For those players who wish to peruse the details, the full patch notes can be found on the official Borderlands website. However, the more significant aspect of this new patch is, of course, the weapon changes.

Borderlands 3 Patch Buffs DAHL Weapons and Others

DAHL was certainly the big winner of this Borderlands 3 patch. All DAHL assault rifles, irrespective of rarity, have had their damage increased by a not-insignificant 35%. The patch also features buffs to four other specific Legendary weapons; The Lob, Malak’s Bane, Ruby’s Wrath, and Woodblocker. In the case of The Lob, the weapon’s magazine size has tripled from 4 to 12. Plus, not only has its damage per tick gone up significantly, but it will now fire a burst shot consisting of 3 orbs rather than just 1.

Meanwhile, Malak’s Bane has also had a large increase to damage. Elsewhere, the gun’s shotgun ammo cost has also been halved, dropping down from 4 to 2. Ruby’s Wrath, too, has been had a major buff to damage. In its case, the cooldown of Singularity Grenade has also been; “greatly reduced”. Finally, the Woodblocker’s Critical Hit Damage has gone up to 100%, while its Vertical Recoil has also been slightly reduced. As a result, players who enjoy using these weapons should find that they are now performing better. Of course, those players who have previously avoided using them may now want to give them another look.
