Dark Souls Remastered Switch Release Date is This October

Praise the sun everyone, because the Dark Souls Remastered Switch release date has been officially confirmed by Bandai Namco themselves to be coming out this October. Thankfully it’ll be releasing on Friday the 19th, meaning you’ll have plenty of time to dive into the dark world of Lordran in handheld mode, as well as on the big screen of your TV.

But let’s face it, the Dark Souls Remaster has been out for a while now on the PS4, Xbox and PC, so why should you bother picking up this version on Nintendo Switch? Well, according to Bandai Namco, you’ll also be able earning your very own Solaire of Astora amiibo to go with the game. If that isn’t a good enough reason to snatch up the Nintendo Switch version then I don’t know what is.

Need some proof to make 100% sure you really will be able to play Dark Souls this October? We understand. Here’s a look at Bandai Namco’s US account, tweeting that lovely confirmation that Dark Souls on the Nintendo Switch will be the best game for you to play once it’s released in two months times.

Dark Souls Remastered on the Nintendo Switch was expected to come out this May, but was pushed back to ‘summer’. Considering that November and December will be around come October time, we have our suspicions that the Switch version of the game may have had a few issues that need ironing out before it can be released worldwide.

It’ll be quite the wait, but at least fans now have a date so they can plan their 5am gaming sessions ahead of time. In the meanwhile, why don’t you check out VGR’s previous coverage of the Dark Souls series? We’re certain you’ll find something that you’ll enjoy reading and if not, let us know on the VGR forums.
