It was announced at Gamescom 2018 this week that DayZ will be finally making its way from PC to a console next week when it releases on Xbox One Game Preview. The zombie survival game will make its console debut on Thursday, August 29, 2018. This version of the game will be in early access as the developer works out any issues as it has with the original PC version.
DayZ developer Bohemia Interactive announced its Xbox One early access release date earlier today at Gamescom 2018, where a ton of other video game release dates like Devil May Cry 5 were revealed. The popular online zombie survival game has been in early access on PC since 2013.
The very soon release date is no surprise given that a select few Xbox One players were given the chance to test it out earlier this month. We already knew that DayZ would be coming to Xbox One at some point this year as it was announced in a development late last year. The game originally began as a zombie survival mod for the PC shooter Arma 2.
It gained enough popularity, despite being a mod, that it warranted its own separate video game release on PC. It has taken years but it will finally be arriving on a console for the first time this month. DayZ is a survival zombie game where players search an open world for supplies and weapons to survive against the zombie horde and other real players.
Xbox One players won’t have to wait much longer to check out the zombie survival online game for themselves, as it releases next week on Thursday, August 29, 2018. It remains to be seen if DayZ will also come to PS4 and when. This isn’t the first online zombie survival game to come to Xbox One this year, as State of Decay 2 also released earlier this year.
