Destiny 2: Bungie Announces Pinnacle Rewards Changes

With Shadowkeep, Bungie introduced a new Power Level system where you can go and achieve infinite Power Level as you level up your Seasonal Artifact. And with that, they also made some changes to how Power Level works in the game. Currently, players can get from 750 Power Level to 900 pretty easily just by completing anything (Crucible match, getting any world drop, etc). But from 900 Power Level to 950 Power Level, players would need to get Powerful drops from activities. And beyond that, come Pinnacle rewards. Now, a lot of reports suggest that there aren’t any pinnacle rewards in the game.

Pinnacle Rewards Getting Tweaked in Destiny 2

Destiny 2 Pinnacle Rewards

In This Week At Bungie blog-post, Bungie has revealed that there is a significant change coming to Destiny 2 regarding Pinnacle Rewards. At this point, players are only getting One reward per Pinnacle objective completion. But, Bungie will be bumping this number up to Two. Here’s what they said in their blog-post:

“When we designed the pinnacle band of Power for Season 8, our intent was to provide an aspirational progression that reflects participation in some of the more difficult and time-limited content of Destiny 2. This was meant to be a slower progression than the powerful reward band, but one that wasn’t a gateway to accessing content.

We’re not hitting our goals for the availability of rewards in all slots for the pinnacle-level rewards. You may have experienced getting duplicate Energy weapon drops from these sources, which is compounded by the need to get a drop in all slots in order to gain enough Power to raise your character’s overall Power by 1. To mitigate this, we have increased the Power granted by pinnacle rewards to +2 instead of +1.”

Note that this change will go live next Thursday on November 7, 2019 (5 days from writing this article). As we know, Iron Banner is coming up. So, make sure you don’t redeem any of the Iron Banner Bounties until this change goes live on Thursday so you could get an extra reward.

Destiny 2: Shadowkeep is now live on PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC, released on October 1, 2019, and later in November on Google Stadia.
