Destiny 2: Bungie talks about Seasonal Artifacts and Mods

If you haven’t been caught up with the Destiny 2 news these days, Bungie revealed that Artifacts will be returning in Shadowkeep. The last time we had artifacts were back in Rise of Iron in Destiny 1. Now, with Shadowkeep, Bungie is going one step further with this feature making them – Seasonal Artifacts. Seasonal Artifacts in Destiny 2 will allow players to unlock unique mods in-game.

Seasonal Artifacts in Destiny 2

We all know that Destiny 2 will have new artifacts every Season that’ll come with new mods and features. The main concern this rises is how players will be able to unlock these mods from Seasonal Artifact? Well, GamesRadar held an interview with design lead Ben Wommack and community manager David Dague (DeeJ) at Gamescom 2019 and asked the question many of us want the answer of.

Destiny 2 Heavy Finisher Moves and Artifacts Seasonal Artifacts

Q. Some players are worried about grinding for mod drops because special mods like Hive Armaments are currently very rare. How difficult will it be to get Enhanced mods and the like?

Wommack: There are mods you can only get through certain grinds and certain pursuits, but most mods are acquired very simply. First, there’s a huge drop of mods that everyone can get, and mods are no longer consumable, they’re collectible. Once you earn a mod, you can use it as many times as you want. The other mods that are going to be right in front of your attention are the ones that come out of seasonal Artifacts. You get those simply by leveling up the seasonal Artifact – getting XP, killing monsters, doing bounties, doing missions and activities, Crucible matches. All that will gain you XP that will level the Artifact and let you choose to unlock a new mod.

Destiny 2: Shadowkeep will be hitting PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC, on October 1, 2019, and later in November on Google Stadia.
