Destiny 2: PC Settings for New Players – Complete Guide

Since the launch of Destiny 2 on PC, players on consoles have been asking for Cross Save in Destiny 2 as they don’t want to grind every single item from the start when they migrate over to PC. Last week, Bungie delivered the most-requested feature to the Destiny 2 community – Cross Save.

Cross Save is Live

With Cross Save being Live in Destiny 2, a Lot of players have jumped from consoles to PC to try the game in its full glory (by that, I mean 60+ FPS, Mouse and Keyboard control, etc). Now, if you’re new to PC and don’t know what type of Graphic Settings you need for the game, we’ve got you covered. Below you can find settings for Destiny.

Destiny 2: PC, In-game Graphic Settings

Destiny 2 PC Settings

Just follow this step-by-step guide for the best Destiny 2 experience on PC.

  • Window Mode: Full screen – This is probably the best option, usually gives some extra FPS and reduces input lag)
  • Vsync: Off – Make sure you have this feature off as this caps your Frame Rate)
  • Framerate Cap Enabled: On (only if you’re using a G-sync monitor)
  • Field of View: This depends on your personal preference. Usually, having the maximum FOV gives you more view-area on-screen. So, this comes in handy on most occasions.
  • Anti-Aliasing: SMAA (This only reduces sharp edges and don’t cost much Frames)
  • Screen Space Ambient Occlusion: HDAO (Now, if you have a high-end Gaming PC with top-tier graphics card like GTX 1080ti, you should turn this feature to 3D)
  • Texture Anisotropy: 16x
  • Texture Quality: Highest
  • Shadow Quality: Low/Minimum (This is Destiny 2’s most charging settings, if you have a GPU like GTX 1070 or lower, you should have this low/minimum)
  • Depth of Field: Off (This feature can cost a lot of Frames per second, so if you don’t have a high-end PC, I suggest you have this turned off)
  • Environment Detail Distance: High (You can have it as low if you’re running like 1050Ti or lower Graphics Card)
  • Character Detail Distance: High (You can have it as low if you’re running like 1050Ti or lower Graphics Card)
  • Foliage Detail Distance: Medium (This feature is one of the most demanding features in Destiny 2. So, unless you’re running 1080Ti, you should have this as Medium)
  • Foliage Shadows Distance: High
  • Light Shafts: High
  • Motion Blur: Off (Do yourself a favor and turn this feature off in every game you can find this feature in)
  • Wind Impulse: Off
  • Render Resolution: 100%
  • Chromatic Aberration: Off
  • Film Grain: Off

These are all the Graphics Settings you need if you’re new to PC gaming and just starting off Destiny 2 with Cross Save.

Destiny 2: Shadowkeep will be hitting PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC, on October 1, 2019, and later in November on Google Stadia.
