Destiny 2: Redditor Proposes an Elegant Solution to Multiple Game Function Problems

There’s no denying that Destiny 2 is in a much better state than it was when it first launched. This holds especially true in the wake of this year’s critically acclaimed Forsaken expansion. However, Forsaken also introduced a few problems which Bungie hasn’t yet found a solution for. One such problem is the inability to reacquire Forsaken-tier equipment from the Collections tab due to the randomized rolls system.

Fortunately for Bungie, one Redditor has found a surprisingly elegant solution which solves multiple problems, including the random rolls issue.

Destiny 2 Prime Engrams Random Rolls Solution

Redditor HoldenAGrenade’s suggestion takes multiple issues into account. Destiny 2 players want to reacquire random roll Collection tab items, especially if they’re already at the maximum power level. For max-power players, there’s not much incentive for getting new equipment other than seeing what random rolls it has. Prime Engrams are also mostly useless to max-power players, but as HoldenAGrenade suggests, they don’t have to be.

Destiny 2 Prime Engram suggestion.

Basically, HoldenAGrenade’s suggestion involves trading a single Prime Engram for a randomly rolled Collection item. Such a system would give max-power players a reason for keeping their Prime Engrams. The system could also give lower-powered players a chance to reroll their favorite equipment. Those players would naturally give up the opportunity of a higher-power item from decrypting the Engram. Also, to avoid exploits, the Collection item would spawn at non-Powerful Gear power levels.

Some commenters pushed back on the Prime Engram trading idea. To their credit, HoldenAGrenade does an admirable job countering those complaints with sound logic and reasonable discourse. You can’t make everyone happy, but I imagine the system HoldenAGrenade suggests would make more players happy than not.

The only way I think HoldenAGrenade’s system could be improved is by making Year One Collection armor eligible as well. Though, I grant that might be asked too much considering how slowly Bungie’s development gears sometimes turn. At the very least, other Redditors appear more amiable to HoldenAGrenade’s suggestion than these cosmetic Super color changes.
