V1 Interactive, the studio behind upcoming first-person shooter Disintegration, has released the game’s first Announcement Trailer during Gamescom. Until now, only one vague teaser trailer had been released for the game, which is the first game set to be released by V1 Interactive; a studio founded by the co-creator of the Halo franchise. Now, gamers can get a first look at what the game will actually feature thanks to the latest Disintegration trailer. As it turns out, the game offers an interesting blend of first-person shooting and directing NPC troops.
Details Revealed in the First Disintegration Trailer
The first Disintegration trailer was a teaser video which only gave gamers a brief look at the grav-cycle. Now, it’s more clear what exactly this vehicle is, and how it factors into the game. The grav-cycle is a flying bike-style vehicle which the player will pilot, allowing them to take advantage of verticality in their movement and shooting. Perhaps the most surprising element from the trailer is that players will be responsible for directing troops. Indeed, the trailer features several scenes of gameplay which show a player commanding NPC soldiers in battle.
According to V1 Interactive, the sci-fi setting takes place on a future Earth, with an emphasis on robotics. “In Earth’s near future, climate extremes, overpopulation, food shortages, and a global pandemic led to nations collapsing and humankind of the brink of extinction,” explains V1 Interactive; “Scientists adopted a means in which the human brain was removed and surgically encased into a robotic armature; a process known as Integration. It was meant to be a temporary solution to an unavoidable crisis.”

Unfortunately, many of the Integrated have come to see their new existence as the course for humanity’s future. Forming a faction called the Rayonne, they have launched a global war against the rest of humanity. They now hunt humans and force them to undergo Integration. However, some of the Integrated have rebelled from the Rayonne and now live as outlaws. The single-player campaign’s protagonist, Romer, is one of these individuals. Indeed, Romer and some of his fellow outlaws feature in the new trailer. The game will reportedly feature both a story campaign and PvP game modes. At present, the game has now release date. However, fans can sign up to a newsletter published by V1 Interactive to stay apprised of upcoming news, which could include multiplayer beta testing.
