DOOM Eternal: Further Information About Enemies

DOOM Eternal’s gameplay trailer during QuakeCon 2018 revealed much about its enemies. Some old enemies are making their comeback a little bit updated, while there are also new ones coming. During one of their recent interviews, Hugo Martin and Marty Stratton revealed more information about DOOM Eternal’s enemies.

DOOM Eternal is definitely going to have old demons and monsters like Arachnotron, Pain Elemental, and The Arch-Vile. It is also going to have many more types of monsters waiting to be slaughtered. During one of their recent interviews with fandom.wikia.com, the developers revealed that we did not see all of the new demons during DOOM Eternal’s gameplay.

They also talked about the ability you are going to have to disable the weapons of the enemies. Hugo Martin specifically said:

“It’s not a hard and fast rule that you can do it to every guy. But in what you saw in the heavies, for example, one of the destructible parts on the Arachnotron is the turret, which is his primary attack.”

Another interesting detail is the way you are going to disable the enemies’ weapons and how Hugo Martin referred to it:

“If you put a sticky bomb or you use the scope and you blow that off, you will effectively disable his primary attack and he will have to resort to only his secondary attacks and his melee swipe.”

Martin specifically referred to the ‘sticky bomb’ as the new mod for the Combat Shotgun. That sticky bomb can be used with many types of enemies including new and old ones. They also said that some of the older enemies would have more HP than they used to because players loved killing them.

DOOM Eternal is bringing a lot of new exciting additions to the DOOM franchise. It is going to be released in 2019, and we certainly cannot wait to try it out.
