To kick off the long weekend around the 4th of July, Treyarch and Activision are giving Call of Duty players another chance to earn bonus XP. This latest Double Weapon XP weekend spans the entire weekend and more, not coming to its end until next Tuesday!
Call of Duty’s Latest Double XP/WXP Event
“Enjoy the long weekend with four days of Double XP and Double Weapon XP on us,” wrote Treyarch, in a social media post announcing the event earlier today. This event, which offers both kinds of Double XP, will be live throughout the weekend until 10:00 AM PT on Tuesday the 6th of July. The event is, of course, live across both Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War and Call of Duty: Warzone.
Season 4 is now well underway in both games, so players should have had ample opportunity to get to grips with the new content. However, if not, this weekend is a great chance to catch up. Even for the most active players, a Double XP weekend (especially a long one like this) is also a great reason to grind for Battle Pass tiers or weapon challenges. Indeed, another good reason to play the game this weekend would be to try out one of the new weapons. By this point, many players have likely reached the requisite tier to unlock the C58 Assault Rifle, for example.
If gamers haven’t played the new Operation Excision expansion in Black Ops Cold War’s Outbreak mode, now may be a good time to do so. The new Outbreak map is apparently the prologue to the next round-based map, coming later this season. This map, Mauer der Toten, will be taking players to the zombie-infested streets of East Berlin. With that new map not far away, players should take the opportunity to get caught up on the Dark Aether storyline.
