Tomorrow, on the 2nd of September, Activision will be launching a brand-new Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War Free Access event. This week-long event will be offering all gamers free access to a wealth of Multiplayer and Zombies content, including new content from Season 5.
Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War Free Access
The Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War Free Access event will be going live at 10:00 AM PT tomorrow, on the 2nd of September. The event will be live for just under one week, ending at the same time on Tuesday the 7th. All progress earned during the event will carry over to Warzone, for those gamers who already play the battle royale title.
The headline feature of this latest Free Access event is its veritable buffet of Multiplayer options. Nine different game modes will be playable, including the brand-new Double Agent game mode. Other modes include Face Off, Team Deathmatch, and Gunfight Tournament. Beyond the modes themselves, the event will offer full access to more than twenty-five different maps. These include the game’s newest maps which arrived at the start of Season 5.
Alongside the Multiplayer offerings, Treyarch is also giving players the chance to try a portion of the game’s Zombies mode. Namely, Free Access players will be able to play Outbreak, including Collateral, the new region from Season 5. Free Access players on PlayStation will also be able to play Onslaught, the Zombies horde-style mode. The actual round-based Zombies maps, however, will not be available to play. At least one of these maps has been playable in past Free Access events, but not this time.
Of course, anybody who participates in this week’s Free Access event will be able to upgrade to the full version of Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War by purchasing the game. The upgrade option will automatically give players the Season 5 Battle Pass as well as Free Tier Skips as a bonus. In fact, until the 8th of September, PlayStation owners can buy the game for 50% off from CallofDuty.com. Xbox and PC gamers can get the same offer, but only until the 6th.
