New Dying Light 2 Trailer Hints at Release Date

It seems like we have been waiting forever for Dying Light 2, doesn’t it? We can remember how impressive the showcase on this game was at last year’s E3. That was ages ago! And we still do not have our hands on the game. We have some good news and some bad regarding the release date. There is also a brand new Dying Light 2 trailer for you to check out.

You can watch the E3 2019 trailer for Dying Light 2 below:

We learned a lot from the new Dying Light 2 trailer. First of all, you’ll notice the release date at the end of the video, which reads “Spring 2020.” Yes, like another major post-apocalypse title we are all waiting for, this game has been delayed. But on the bright side, at least the release window has been firmed up. The platforms are still going to be PlayStation 4, Xbox One and Windows PC.

Like previous footage of the game, what we see in the new trailer shows off a lot of vertical space and free movement across the terrain. But we also learned more about the story of the game and its protagonist, Aiden Caldwell. Techland describes him as “an infected survivor whose high-flying parkour skills and brutal combat ability make him a valuable asset in this crumbling metropolis.”

We know from the new Dying Light 2 trailer when the game will come out.

We also learned more about Aiden’s motivations and values. While he references the zombies as one of the main threats to his survival, he focuses mostly on the fact that human beings have lost their way in the fight to survive—something he will “keep fighting.”

Last year at E3, the Dying Light 2 team focused on how choices the player makes will alter the entire landscape of the city where the game takes place. Given that along with the tone of the new trailer, this seems like a game that should put players in some interesting moral predicaments.

But hopefully, this is just the first bit of news on Dying Light 2 this week, and we will be hearing more. Regardless, there is a lot going on right now, and plenty of news and rumors streaming in from E3 every hour. We at VGR are committed to helping you stay on top of all of the juicy updates. Keep checking in with us throughout the week so you don’t miss a single exciting development!
