EA Sports UFC 4 Patch Update Brings New Fighters and Gameplay Fixes, Max Holloway Gets Ratings Upgrade

Just ahead of the UFC 258 fight event, the EA Sports mixed martial arts simulation title has also received some key updates. With an EA Sports UFC 4 patch update, gamers now have two more fighters in the game. In addition, the game gave star fighter Max Holloway a nice ratings boost in the game. There are also a number of gameplay fixes revealed in EA’s notes, as of this past Friday.

EA Sports UFC 4 patch update adds Rakic, Vettori, and gameplay fixes

Several days ahead of the latest fight night, EA Sports UFC 4 patch update added two more four-star fighters to the game. They are Aleksandar Rakic and Marvin Vettori. The light heavyweight Rakic brings 3.5 stars Grappling, 4.5 stars Striking, and 4.5 stars Health. Vettori, a middleweight fighter, has four stars Grappling, four stars Striking, and 4.5 stars Health ratings.

Despite the above additions to the roster this past week, many fans are still asking for Kevin Holland. The 6-foot-3 middleweight has been on an impressive five-fight win streak, with his most recent win coming back at UFC 256 over Ronald Souza by KO in December.

The arrival of the two fighters was part of EA Sports UFC 4 patch update 4.08. Gameplay fixes addressed things like increasing permanent block damage, adjusting various animations, and slowing down several moves.

Max Holloway moves up to five-star rating

Becoming one of the best in your sport is a major achievement, and getting recognition in a video game is an added benefit for many athletes. In some of the sports simulation games, gamers have seen greats like Tom Brady and LeBron James achieve 99 overall ratings in various seasons.

In EA Sports UFC 4 ratings, fighters are on a one to five-star rating system. So one star is the lowest, and a fighter with five stars is among the best of the best. That’s what Max Holloway now has after his great performance back in mid-January.

Max recorded a video in which he opened up a special package he was informed about by Daniel “DC” Cormier, the guy in charge of the game’s ratings. Holloway joked that DC had been ducking his callouts for a fight for years but finally contacted him.

In the package, Holloway pulls out a shiny gold chain complete with the UFC logo and five stars engraved on it. He jokingly pretends to bite it to see if it’s real gold.

Holloway defeated Calvin Kattar via unanimous decision in the UFC on ABC: Holloway vs. Kattar event, which took place last month in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates. That boosted his record to 22-6 overall, and he currently ranks No. 1 amongst UFC featherweight fighters.
