EA Sports UFC 4 Trial Now Available, Patch Update Arrives for Beta Feedback

We’ve seen plenty of UFC 4 content unveiled thanks to EA over the past several weeks. As of Friday, the EA Sports UFC 4 trial has officially launched, bringing gamers a chance to play the game a week before release date. However, there are some fine details to take note of. Here’s what you need to know with the new Play First Trial available via EA Access.

EA Sports UFC 4 trial details

Ready to try out everything the new UFC 4 game has to offer including Career Mode and Blitz Battles? As of Friday, August 7, gamers can get a total of 10 hours to play the EA Sports UFC 4 trial. However, it requires being an EA Access member. That gives the Play First Trial, something exclusive to members of the service.

In addition to trials, EA Access service (details here) also gives members discounts on digital purchases on Sony PlayStation or Microsoft Xbox. The service also includes a huge library of games available in their vault. The service has a cost of $4.99 per month for the PlayStation 4 or Xbox One. It’s an ongoing subscription, so keep in mind you’ll be billed each month unless you cancel.

That said, $4.99 may be a good deal for some fans to test out EA Sports UFC 4 trial a week ahead of the release. The new MMA game is officially arriving on Friday, August 14, 2020, for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. For those who didn’t pre-order, this could give an idea as to whether or not they want to get the game.

EA releases patch update based on closed beta feedback

Weeks ago, EA allowed gamers to register for a UFC 4 closed beta to provide feedback about the gameplay. Based on the feedback that developers received, they made a number of updates. Those were unveiled through a patch that went out along with the EA Sports UFC 4 trial.

One of the big additions was to add a training manual feature and updated tutorial systems to help gamers learn what’s what as far as how all the fight controls work. The other was to update fighter models to give them a better overall look. In particular, they “tuned muscle definition” for all fighter models based on their patch notes.

There were some other fixes that rolled out as part of the patch notes. Those include lack of blood/damage after playing consecutive matches, fixing facial animations, fixing an ear deformation issue, and adding in a skip option for pre- and post-fight emotes. Check out the link below to get a full listing of the various changes in the update.

A lot of the above fixes and/or upgrades were part of a patch update for the EA Sports UFC 4 trial. However, EA notes some fighter likeness updates may not appear in the trial, but rather when the game arrives next week. They’ll include Donald Cerrone, Cody Garbrandt, TJ Dillashaw, Stephen Thompson, Paul Felder, Paulo Costa, and Sean O’Malley.
