The first major story DLC to come to The Elder Scrolls: Legends since its re-release by SparkyPants Studios, Isle of Madness is set in the Shivering Isles; the Deadric realm of Sheogorath, the Prince of Madness. Elder Scrolls fans will likely recognise this region from its appearance in the DLC of the same name; ‘Shivering Isles’ was released as DLC for The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion back in 2007. This will be the first time since then that the Shivering Isles make a direct appearance in an Elder Scrolls game. The DLC is due to launch in just a few days’ time, and ahead of that release, one of the upcoming new cards has been revealed.
Cyriel: A New Card Coming in Elder Scrolls: Legends’ Isle of Madness DLC
Overall, there are 55 new cards coming to The Elder Scrolls: Legends in the Isle of Madness DLC. There are also a variety of new gameplay mechanics, including that of ‘Double Cards’; cards which are essentially two separate cards which begin merged into one. As revealed by PCGamer, one of the upcoming new cards will be that of a Wood Elf character named Cyriel. Given that she has a name and isn’t a pre-existing character; it could well be that Cyriel plays some role in the upcoming DLC’s story mode.
Cyriel is a 3/3 unique card with the Agility attribute with a cost of 3. Her most interesting feature is her special ability; ‘Pilfer’. This ability means that when you deal damage directly to your opponent, she reduces the cost of your deck’s top card by 3. As a result, while she may not be the most powerful card, she can help you to quickly and cheaply bring out much more powerful ones. The Isle of Madness DLC is set to release on the 24th of January. It is currently available to pre-order for $20, or more if you wish to purchase a premium bundle.
