What could be in the horizon for Evening Star?

Sonic Mania programmer, designer, and developer Christian Whitehead made the reveal a few days ago. In fact, the announcement of the game studio was made over his Twitter account. Christian revealed that this venture was quietly started back in November, 2018.

Evening Star’s mission is “designing fresh, fun games which will stand the test of time”. Furthermore, the development team expects to use the core technology and architecture behind Whitehead’s Retro Engine to accomplish this goal. However, the Retro Engine has been reborn as the “Star Engine” and will be the basis of the studio’s new games.

The game studio will have its headquarters in Los Angeles, California. However, some developers will also be working across Melbourne and London. Additionally, each team member will be pursuing their own ambitious goals. The website states that “the team boldly explores directions long since left behind.”

For now, Christian Whitehead has announced that Evening Star is currently hiring. In fact, this is done under the purpose of having a solid workforce which allows them to start the projects. Some of the members who came from Sonic Mania are: Dave Padilla, Tom Fry, Hunter Bridges, and Brad Flick.
