The Fallout 76 Stress Test Could Come to Other Platforms Soon

The Fallout 76 Stress Test began just a couple of days ago on the Xbox One, through the Xbox Insider program. Participants are able to play the game during select times, so that Bethesda can, as its name suggests, test the game’s servers and online performance. Of course, the full Beta will be starting in a little over a week’s time. Nevertheless, the event has garnered a great deal of interest from prospective participants, especially from gamers on other platforms. Those players may be in luck, as Pete Hines has now hinted that the Fallout 76 Stress Test could come to PC and PS4 sometime soon.

The Fallout 76 Stress Test Could Start Later on Other Platforms

The Fallout 76 Stress Test which is currently taking place is, of course, subject to several restrictions. Players’ progress in the game will not be saved, and participants must agree to a variety of conditions, including an NDA. One participant who posted gameplay online and violated that NDA found their Xbox Live Gold account suspended for the rest of the year; making it impossible for them to play Fallout 76 when it releases. However, providing players don’t break the rules, the test is a chance for fans to try the game out early. When a gamer complained about the fact that the stress test is currently only available on Xbox, Pete Hines pointed something out.

The Fallout 76 Beta is due to start one week early on the Xbox One, in the last week of October. It will be starting later on PC and PS4. As such, as Hines says; “The Xbox test is first so naturally they’d need to stress test there first. If they do it for other platforms, it would be similarly in advance of the full BETA.”

It’s not confirmation that other stress tests will take place. However, it certainly floats the possibility, and makes a key point; if stress tests do take place for the PC and PS4, they will likely be at least one week later than that on the Xbox One… Thus far, Bethesda has not indicated whether such tests will take place. There is certainly time for further tests to be announced, however, so fans should keep one eye open for any announcements of the sort.
