Like Far Cry 5, Far Cry New Dawn features a number of “Fangs-for-Hire” on its Guns-for-Hire roster; animal companions whom you can bring along with you. Timber is the first of these, taking the place of Boomer from Far Cry 5. The second is totally different from the other Far Cry 5 Fangs-for-Hire, which were a bear and a mountain lion. This second companion is Horatio, a huge boar.
Far Cry New Dawn Guns-for-Hire: How to Recruit Horatio
Of all of the Far Cry New Dawn Guns-for-Hire, Horatio might be the easiest one to recruit. Most of the other Guns-for-Hire have a side-quest which you must complete in order to recruit them. Even Nana, whose recruitment process all takes place in the same location, involves completing a series of different challenges. In the case of Timber, players must complete a relatively straightforward navigation/climbing challenge. By comparison, you can recruit Horatio very easily.
The first step to recruiting this boar is to find out his location. You can learn this information by speaking to the Wiki-Bean-ia scouts. You can find these individuals wandering around Hope County. However, there is always guaranteed to be one at Prosperity and at every Outpost you capture. They inform you of the locations of Guns-for-Hire, side missions, and stashes. Keep speaking to them, and you should learn about Horatio before too long.
Horatio can be found on the western side of the centre of the map, across from where players recruit Nick Rye and Sharky Boshaw. The boar is being kept by the Highwaymen at a farm camp. Clear out the Highwaymen who are guarding the camp and look for Horatio lying on his side in the middle of the farm. Once you find him, pet the boar, and you’ll complete the side-quest. Horatio will then be available on your Guns-for-Hire roster.
