The FIFA 19 and NBA 2K19 were among the winners when it comes to most downloaded games last month. Over the month of September, these two titles ranked among the top three games in several regions for the PS Store downloads. In addition, nearly half of the top 10 games within North America for the month were within the sports genre.
FIFA 19 & NBA 2K19 PS Store downloads in Europe
On Wednesday, the PlayStation Blog revealed which games took over the PlayStation 4 game download charts for September. Just like overall FIFA 19 sales topped UK charts, the game also topped the PS Store downloads chart in Europe. Spider-Man came in second with NBA 2K19 taking the No. 3 spot.

The only other game that took a spot on the top 10 in Europe was Pro Evolution Soccer 2019. The game continues to be part of debates over which title is better between that or FIFA 19. Clearly, the charts are telling a story here in terms of which game people prefer. It’s either that or fans are used to one particular title setting the standard for the sport.
FIFA 19, NBA 2K19 also in North America’s top three
Things were much different when it comes to the North American PS Store charts. Marvel’s Spider-Man game led the way there, but NBA 2K 19 and FIFA 19 were right behind it. Both titles seem to be doing quite well after their recent releases. The NBA 2K 19 game was out since September 7th while FIFA 19 arrived at the end of the month on September 28th.
Those were also two of the four games from the sports genre that gamers were downloading the most in North America last month.

Grand Theft Auto V continues its run on the PS Store downloads charts after a release that occurred several years ago. The PlayStation blog also shows off the top Free-to-Play Games, PS Vita Games, PS VR Games, PS4 Themes, and PS4 Classics’ top 10 charts here.
The month of October should be super interesting for games as the holiday season is rapidly approaching. 2K Sports launched WWE 2K19, while Call of Duty: Black Ops 4, and Red Dead Redemption 2 titles are also due out soon. It could be an exciting battle involving these games along with FIFA 19, Madden NFL 19, and others.
